AN ADVANCED QUALITY IMPROVEMENT PROGRAM FOR POTENTIAL WORLD-CLASS ORGANIZATIONS

Six Sigma is state-of-the art Quality Improvement Methodology which focuses on achieving breakthrough results.  When properly deployed on carefully selected business projects, this methodology leads to significant reduction and elimination of defects, and out-of-control processes.  This in turn translates into immediate and dramatic financial profitability.

Six Sigma program requires three levels of training i.e.  (1) Introduction to Six Sigma (Champion), for top/senior management (2) Green Belt, middle level course for quality improvement teams, and (3) Black Belt, an advanced course for quality managers.  PIQC has the privilege to introduce these courses for the first time in Pakistan, which provides top of the class training with international credibility.  These programs are licensed from Singapore Quality Institute International, which is Asia’s premium Six Sigma training institute.

SIX SIGMA (BLACK BELT)
(20 Days (spread over four months) an advanced level course for Quality Managers and Professionals)

 

This is an advanced level course that builds comprehensive abilities in the participants in the use of six sigma tools, techniques and leadership skills. Six Sigma Green Belt   is not a pre-requisite for this course however; participants are expected to have sufficient experience in the field of Quality with reasonable understanding of basic statistical concepts.    The companies intend to start six sigma program need at least one Black Belt and a few Green Belts from different departments, for designing and implementing six sigma project.  Black Belt is an overall in charge of Six Sigma program and is recommended to be a Quality professional while Green Belts, the project team can be part time problem solvers.

 

Topics to be Covered:

Introduction to Six Sigma and Management Principles. Introduction to Statistical Concepts and techniques. Define Phase:  CTQ, RTY, Process Mapping. Measure Phase: Measuring problem in depth, C&E, FMEA, SIPOC Diagram. Analyze Phase: Causal Analysis, Central Limit Theorum, Confidence Intervals, Hypothesis Testing, Sampling, ANOVA. Improve Phase: Experimentations on solutions, Design of Experiments, EVOP, Regression Analysis. Control Phase: Response Surface Designs, Control Method, SPC, Lean Sigma, Process Control Plans.

Projects will be assigned to participants to solve real company problems.  Exam will be held at the 4th month.

Familiarity with basic statistics and computer skills.

Six Sigma (Green Belt)

(5 days Middle Level Course for Quality Professionals and Departmental Quality Coordinators)

 

This middle level course provides intermediate level exposure to the participants in application of quality tools. It teaches skills to run six sigma projects under the supervision of Black Belts. A company which embarks on six sigma strategy needs a number of green belts, who form six sigma project teams. These teams work on business and quality improvement projects which result into significant improvement and growth in the organizations. Quality problems are linked with the business goals and these teams carry out extensive work to solve these problems.

 

Topics to be Covered:

TIntroduction to Six Sigma and its Fundamentals, Project Charter and Six Sigma team structure, Define Phase , Measure Phase, Analyze Phase, Improvement Phase, Control Phase

A real life project will be assigned. Exam will be conducted at the end.

Target Participants:

Quality Managers & Coordinators, Department Heads, Quality Improvement Team Members .

 

Course Pre-Requisite:

Computer literacy , Knowledge of Basic Statistical tools.

Introduction to Six Sigma

(A one day introductory course for CEOs and Senior Management)

 

In view of present WTO scenario and competitive rapid market trends, leading manufacturers and service providers are trying to manage their processes at around zero defect level. Six Sigma is essentially a strong analytical and problem solving mechanism for organizations to reduce their defects rate from few defects per hundred (%) to few defects per millions (dpm). In order to run processes to optimum level, the problem solving capabilities need to be improved from basic to advanced engineering and statistical tools. This course introduces the basic concepts, tools and methodologies of Six Sigma improvement strategy.

 

Topics to be Covered:

Introduction to Six Sigma, DMAIC Process, Introduction to Quality Tools used in Six Sigma, Integrating ISO 9001:2000 and Six Sigma, Implementing Six Sigma, Critical Success factors and Pitfalls in Implementation.

 

Target Participants:

CEOs, Directors, Head of Departments, and General Managers. 

 

Course Fee:

Rs 6,500 per participant .
